Announcement of International Seminar on Atomic Processes in Plasmas (Satellite Meeting of the XXI ICPEAC) Organized by the National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS) Place: National Institute for Fusion Science, Toki, Gifu, Japan Date: July 29 (Thu.) - July 30 (Fri.), 1999 Scope of the seminar This satellite meeting is intended for exchange of scientific information and discussions among scientists who are interested in atomic processes in plasmas: laboratory fusion plasma, laser produced plasma, astrophysical plasmas and industrial plasmas like processing plasma and discharge lamps. The following topics will be covered: Electron - atom/ion collisions (excitation, ionization, recombination) Ion atom/ion/molecule collisions Molecular processes in plasma EBIT experiments X-ray sources and lasers Plasma density effect on fundamental atomic processes Plasma transport and atomic processes (e.g. dynamics of high Rydberg atoms) Atomic data codes Atomic databases Collisional radiative model, Atomic kinetics codes Plasma spectroscopy The scientific program will be composed of invited talks and contributed papers, covering both experimental and theoretical aspects. There will be oral and poster sessions. Call for papers, Registration, Accommodation Contributed papers are welcome. If you are planning to submit papers or to attend the meeting, please fill in and return the attached Registration Form not later than April 30, 1999. Email and WWW addresses are available for quicker communication. The proceedings of the meeting will be published as a NIFS report. The registration fee will be 5,000 yen.
