TRANSPORTATION AND MAPS
How to get to NIFS and back to your country

1. From Sendai ("" in Japanese)

2. From Narita Airport by train

total cost (one way; by JR line): 7,670yen (ticket)+ 6,550yen (express charge, or 7,310yen by "Nozomi") = 14,220yen (14,980yen) for a reserved seat.
In total it takes about 4.5 - 5 hours to get to Tajimi.

3. From Kansai Airport

Total cost (one way by JR line): 5,150yen + 4,050yen(express charge)=9,200yen
In total it takes about 3 hours to get to Tajimi.

4. From Nagoya Airport

In total it takes about 1 hour to get to Tajimi if traffic is not crowded. Map of Kachigawa Station

9. From Tajimi Station to Kachigawa or Nagoya Station

JR Chuo line bound for Nagoya (track No.1, 2 or 4.) by rapid or local train. Every 10-15 min.

10. The way back to your country.

(1) From Tajimi to Narita

It takes about 5 hours.
If your flight departs at 12:00 and you need to get to Narita Airport by 10:00am, and must leave Tajimi at 5:30am.

(A) By airplane

(2) From Tajimi to Kansai (Osaka) Airport

If your flight departs at 12:00 and you need to get the airport at 10:00, you must leave Tajimi at 6:30.

(3) From Tajimi to Nagoya Airport

If your flight departs at 12:00 and you need to get the airport at 10:00, you must leave Tajimi at 6:30.

(4) Airport bus from Kachigawa Satation to Nagoya Airport

(approximately 20 min., fare=320yen.)

Kachigawa Station: 6:05, 6:35, 7:05, 7:35, ... (every 30 min.)... 20:05, 20:35

When you get on a bus from back, you take a numbered ticket which determines the bus fare. You need to keep the ticket and pay the fare with the ticket when you get off the bus. The bus fare is shown on a board in front of the bus by the number for your bus stop.

On the way to the airport, there are several stops. When arriving at the airport, the international terminal is the first stop. You push a button to inform the bus driver that you want to get off. The domestic terminal is the last stop. There is no English announcement, so watch carefully.
